May 31

This week is are 2^nd grade play. We got caterpillars a few weeks ago. Now we have 8 butterfly’s but some are still in their chrysalis. We are doing prepositions in writing. In spelling we are doing the pattern  -tion,  -ture, -ion.

*June 7: Zoo Field Trip: all parents are welcome to chaperone as long as clearances are complete! (Memberships can not be used.) 8 parents are currently coming!

Hi parents, in spelling we’ve been doing abbreviations. In math we’ve been doing mental math. Our caterpillar ’s are in there 3rd stage. I think it has been a fun week fore all of us I know I had fun. Bye.

*Our second grade play is next Thursday 5/30! Please make sure your child is at our evening performance by 5:30. All students are asked to wear jeans or black pants, sneakers or tie shoes---no flip flops. We will provide a colored shirt when they arrive!

May 17

In math we are learning about graphs. Our week has been going good. We’ve been doing good.

We did our weekly test. We researched our animals. We’ve been doing good in writing workshop.

Notes:

*Our 2nd grade 6 pm performance will be on Thursday, May 30th! We have been hard at work preparing for our play so I am hopeful all of our kiddos will be present for our evening performance. All students are singing, and then we have speaking, dancing, and sign language parts. If for some reason your child will not be attending, please let me know so we can prepare accordingly.

May 10

This week in math we are learning about shapes. We are also learning about graphs too. We are doing a  second grade play on May 30th. On May 8 are teacher got catipilers. When they turn into butterflies we’ll let them go. Are Mvp of the week is Abigail. We all love the pictures on her poster. We are also researching are favorite animals in class. Tomorrow is field day. We will have a blast.

*We will have a second grade play on May 30th at 2:20 pm during school hours and at 6:00 pm for families! We have been practicing hard and can't wait to perform for you!
*We will be going to Tyler Arboretum on Monday! Sunny Gummel, Lisa Connor, Angela Kraemer, and Heather Emblem are our chaperones. We will be eating lunch when we return at 12:45. Please make sure your child is dressed for walking outdoors. This will be a fun and educational trip!

May 3

Our math is over time. We talked about the minute hand and the hour hand and what each number means. In specials we do Art, Gym, library and music. What I like about this week is learning more about time. In writing workshop we wrote about our everyday hero. Then we typed our everyday hero paper on the computer and Mrs. Pandov printed it.

*There is still time to send in a photo of your child's everyday hero if you wish to add one to their writing!
*Zoo permission slips will go home on Monday! Please sign and return by May 24th! The cost of the field trip is $18. We will eat while we are at the zoo so sack lunches will be needed. There is still quite a bit of time until we go to the zoo but I want everyone to have enough time to plan!

April 26

In math we are doing time. In writing workshop we are writing about our hero’s in our family or in our comunity. We went to see the play dragons love tacos. On Tuesday we went to the tech lab. We have our field trip to the zoo next month. There is no more fitness club intil next year.

*All interested in being a chaperone! Please make sure you have contacted Carolyn Wren in the office to make sure your volunteer clearances are complete. If they are not, you will not be able to chaperone.
*Sunny Gummel, Angela Kraemer, Heather Emblem, and Lisa Conway will be our chaperones on May 13 to Tyler Arboretum. Our field trip to the zoo will be on June 7th but permission slips have not gone home yet. All chaperones are welcomed to come to the zoo with us!
